CATHY ERVIN OVERSTREET WomAn of Achievement Award

The Cathy Ervin Overstreet Woman of Achievement Award is presented annually at the Miss Hendersonville Pageant to a woman in our community who exemplifies personal and professional accomplishment through community service. The award is named in memory of Cathy Overstreet , who served as the Executive Director of the Miss Hendersonville Pageant from 1998 until her death in 2002.

The winner receives a beautiful crystal candy dish in the shape of a pineapple, which is widely-known as a symbol of hospitality.  A contribution of $250 is made by the Miss Hendersonville Committee each year to the charity of the winner's choice.

Patsy Farmer Jones was named the first recipient of the Cathy Ervin Overstreet Woman of Achievement Award in 2005. Pictured here with Overstreet's mother, Barbara Ervin.  Jones selected Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation as the recipient of the contribution in her honor.
